| Do freaks still don tie dyes? Not only do peaceniks still don tie dyes but, kids do so also. The tie dye is a refining mutiny for the fashion giants. What was, at one time made to make 2nd hand clothes look new, is now made new and sold everywhere. Tie-dye apparel is one of the preeminent hippie style items. Very few items are as closely associated with hippies as tie-dye rags. All our tie-dye garb is handmade. Tie dying is a handmade craft that has been around for about 5000 years.
